Synopsis: It’s Christmas again. Janeway and Seven celebrate the holidays and their first anniversary.

Challenge: From Liz at LOTS, who wanted a Christmas story that:

  1. was a first for the two lovers
  2. involved tasting a new food that one of the lovers had never tasted and the other wants to share (to be done in an unique way … use imagination)
  3. shows them kissing under some mistletoe
  4. includes a special present, not necessarily a material item.

Rating/Codes:

  • NC-17
  • Star Trek: Voyager
  • J/7
  • PWP

Notes: This is a sequel to Merry Christmas, first posted in 2002.

Thanks: To Lara for being my beta, but especially for being a friend and introducing me to someone very special.

To JC for providing me with lyrics and encouragement.

To Nicole for the ideas, suggestions and the laughs.

To Marie for everything else. The s’mores are for you. ILY8

Writing Exercise: Write with a partner, taking turns writing a small part of a short story. Do not show each other what you have written, until the end of the exercise. Once you have completed a small section, inform your partner of the last word written and take it up from there.

Notes: Marie and I were bored one day and wanting to write, so we decided to try our hand at a little writing exercise. It came out rather weird and really made no sense at all, but it made for an interesting experiment.

Marie = bolded sections

Kate = non-bolded sections

Synopsis: Just as the title says – a romantic dining experience. ; )

Rating/Codes:

  • PG-13
  • Star Trek: Voyager
  • J/7
  • PWP

Notes: I wrote this in April of 2004. I was waiting around for my dear friend Alex to turn up so we could go somewhere and this was how I killed the time. Never went back and edited, so I hope it’s not too horrendous.

Thanks: To Alex for being late, when I was on time for once!

Repercussions

Synopsis: Kathryn and Seven’s relationship is in jeopardy due to a secret Kathryn has been keeping.

Challenge: Susan (my housemate at the time) issued this challenge:

  • Have the first words Seven says be “Oh, Miss, what a thing to do!”
  • Have Janeway say somewhere within the story, “You broke my heart.”

Both lines originally come from the fabulous lesbian themed mini-series ‘Tipping the Velvet’.

Rating/Codes:

  • PG-13
  • Star Trek: Voyager
  • J/7
  • Angst

Notes: This was written in November 2003. After some INTENSE beta-ing, I spent some time editing it, got discouraged, edited again … finally, I decided it was never going to be what I wanted it to be and I should just stop being an obsessive perfectionist and post it! Re-reading it now, it’s so … passe. Well, to me it is, having going over and gover it. I hope it doesn’t seem that way to everyone else.

Thanks: To Susan for the challenge.

To Elize for the beta-ing and encouragement.

To Alex and Jun for their mania, reading and encouragment.

To K for everyting – both to do with this story and to do with my life. I love you.

Synopsis: Voyager’s circumstances have changed and therefore so have Janeway’s. She and Seven find that when the truth is too painful, lies may be another way of telling how they feel.

Challenge: To myself from myself – write an angst-y story with an up-in-the-air sort of ending.

Rating/Codes:

  • PG-13
  • Star Trek: Voyager
  • J/7
  • Angst

Notes: I wrote this story in one sitting in early November, 2004.

Thanks: To Angelina – I read her story, Cherry Deluxe and, inspired, decided it was time I tried my hand at a properly angst-y story, one that didn’t necessarily have the quirky ending I usually do. I don’t know if I managed it though.

To my beautiful partner and beta-reader, K!

Challenge: Just Do It: “What do Janeway’s different hairstyles say about how she feels?”

Rating/Codes:

  • PG-13
  • Star Trek: Voyager
  • J/7
  • Post-endgame

Notes: I wrote this in February2005 for the JDI challenge. The topic I got was kinda insane but it worked, I think.

Thanks: To the Just Do It Challenge ladies for inventing the challenge and creating the site.

To Xee for giving me such a crazy topic.

To K for beta-ing the story.
